Off-road tires are becoming the de facto standard for off-road truck and SUV owners. Some manufacturers such as Jeep, Toyota or Ford even install such tires as a factory OEM solution. And riders just can't get enough of these tires.
But what makes them so desirable? Well, mainly the dual nature. Modern off-road tires cope with everyday driving without any problems and at the same time offer the driver better traction off-road. And one of the most popular.All terrain tiresToday is the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. A bite, right?
The tire's name may be long, but it also has a long list of qualities. Goodyear used all of its on-road and off-road tire knowledge to set its model apart from the competition.
And the opposition in this category is quite fierce. The BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2, for example, uses racing-derived technology. Tire manufacturers are really investing in their off-road models, which is great for buyers because it means more great options.
The point is that the off-road category is divided into three smaller categories. For one, you have tires that are primarily intended for on-road use and suffer a little off-road. On the other hand, it has tires that work better off-road but affect on-road dynamics.
Then you have tires in the middle that are meant to perform well both on and off-road. One such tire, on paper at least, is the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. With this product, Goodyear wanted to offer truck and SUV owners a comfortable and responsive on-road handling and improved off-road traction.
But what is this tire for? Well, things are looking pretty good on the Jeep Wrangler for starters. Not only do they share the name, but they have similar abilities. I would also be happy with a Toyota 4Runner and these tires, or even the new Ford Bronco. In this respect, Ford installs these tires ex works, but without the "Wrangler" in the name. With the Jeep Wrangler. you get it, don't you?
Anyway, my point is that if you have an off-road capable machine, the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar is for you. In addition, Goodyear offers the tire in multiple sizes, ranging from a 16-inch wheel diameter to a 20-inch wheel diameter.
The lineup consists of metric P and LT sizes and even professional E sizes for cargo use, meaning almost every SUV or pickup truck, old and new, on North American roads is covered. If you own such a vehicle, Goodyear has you covered.
That being said, all that remains is to see how the tire performs in the real world. You can find all about it in my in-depth review where I will cover off-road traction, on-road dynamics, dry, wet and snow traction, comfort and durability. It's going to be an information-packed review, so be sure to buckle up.
Before we do that, let's look at what features Goodyear has built into the tire. There are some interesting technologies and materials that might pique your interest.

What are the features of the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar?

Goodyear claims the Wrangler Adventure (I had to trim it) is its “premier tire for on- and off-road versatility, featuring DuPont™ Kevlar® for rugged strength and superior traction in rain and snow. Both for daily highway driving and off-road driving.”
The American tire manufacturer used a durable special tread compound in the tire. The compound features a chip and chip resistant tread that helps the tire stay intact when driving over abrasive surfaces such as dirt, gravel and rocks.
Interestingly, the Pro-Grade tires use an even more durable compound that improves wear in high-torque applications. For added durability, Goodyear used its Durawall technology, which prevents chips, cuts, punctures, scrapes and abrasions on the sidewalls.
The compound is formed into a multi-faceted, symmetrical tread pattern. The tread design looks robust and attractive, which off-roaders like very much. Goodyear also designed the pattern for on-road comfort and off-road traction.
The tread features open shoulder blocks and traction ribs at the base of the outer circumferential grooves. According to Goodyear, these help to improve traction in mud, but also on snow-covered roads. All models also have wavy sipes in the tread blocks that create more cutting edges in the snow.
However, only Pro-Grade LT metric tires carry the Three Peaked Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. I'm not sure why the P-metric sizes aren't getting the rating, but I suspect it has something to do with how aggressive the tread compound is.
Basically, the internal construction of the Wrangler Adventure differs from any other tire on the market. Goodyear used DuPont™ Kevlar® to support the steel belts, which significantly increases the tire's strength. For LT metric models, engineers even added 30% more steel for added durability.
The super strong construction allows the rider to use this tire with less internal pressure, which can be of great help when climbing rocks or driving over dunes.
What are maintenance indicators?
The Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar features industry-standard tread wear indicators. These indicators can help the owner to more easily control the tread depth of the tire. And monitoring tread depth can be crucial to getting the most out of your tires.
Without sufficient tread depth, for example, off-road traction suffers greatly. In addition, the tire will not work properly on wet roads and will have almost no traction on snowy roads.
The minimum legal tread depth on the Wrangler Adventure is 2/32 of an inch. If any of your tires reach this point, I recommend replacing the entire set immediately. Otherwise you risk driving with tires that are unsafe in most conditions.
You can check the wear indicators from time to time to see how much tread is left on your tires. These are narrow strips of rubber that are embedded in the tire's circumferential grooves 2/32" from the bottom. When your tread is at its lowest point, the indicators are completely flush with the surface.
Fortunately, you will be waiting for this to happen. The Wrangler Adventure with Kevlar has the best tread life of any off-road tire. Also, Goodyear offers a 60,000 mile warranty on treads, which is just great. Add to that the exceptionally strong construction and you have one of the most durable tires on the market, period.
How does it behave on dry asphalt?
I couldn't find much fault with the road characteristics of this tyre. It's not very responsive, but it's not an off-road tire. More importantly, there's ample cornering grip and good traction for acceleration. In addition, braking distances are reasonably short and stability at high speeds is excellent.
How is it on wet and slippery roads?
The tire also impresses in the rain. As expected, the resistance to aquaplaning is excellent, but the traction also surprised me. The Wrangler Adventure handles corners very well and brakes on time when it rains. In my opinion, this is enough for an absolutely safe driving experience.
That being said, how is it on snowy roads?

Snow is no problem for the tire's aggressive tread pattern. You can accelerate easily on loose snow and with a little persuasion on packed snow. In addition, the tire handles very well in snow, which is especially true for LT metric tires. The braking distances are also quite short.
Is it suitable for off-road driving?
Well, of course it is. The Wrangler Adventure is one of the best all-terrain tires for off-road on all surfaces. I found the tire to be particularly good on hard surfaces where it feels firm in corners.
Rock crawling is another category where you will see good results and I can say the same for shallow mud. However, deep mud could be a major obstacle for the Wrangler. However, don't expect much from other all-terrain tires in mud.
Is it convenient and sophisticated?
In terms of ride quality, I couldn't feel any vibrations or bumps from the road. The tire rides smoothly on a variety of surfaces, which helps on long journeys. However, noise can be an issue at highway speeds - tread noise is noticeable.

Should I buy the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar?
You should definitely put it on your favorites list. The Wrangler Adventure is currently one of the most successful off-road tires on the market. It handles everyday driving with ease, lasts a long time and offers excellent off-road traction. In my opinion, that's enough for an easy recommendation to any truck or SUV driver anywhere in the world.
