This warning light will illuminate for approximately 6 seconds each time you turn the engine start/stop switch to the ON position. This light also illuminates when the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is not functioning properly. If the SRS air bag warning light does not come on or stays on after operating for about 6 seconds when you turn the engine start/stop switch to the ON position or start the engine, or comes on while driving, turn around Have the SRS checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
As a reminder to the driver, the seat belt warning light will flash for approximately 6 seconds each time you turn the engine start/stop button, regardless of seat belt placement.
This light will illuminate if the parking brake is applied while the engine start/stop switch is in the START or ON position. The warning light should go out if the parking brake is released while the engine is running. The parking brake chime will sound to remind you that the parking brake is on when you drive faster than 10 km/h (6 mph). Always release the parking brake before driving.
This light comes on when the engine start/stop button is on and goes off after about 3 seconds if the system is operating normally. If the ABS warning light stays on or illuminates while driving, or does not illuminate when the engine start/stop switch is in the ON position, this indicates an ABS malfunction. If this is the case, have your vehicle checked by an Authorized Genesis Dealer as soon as possible. The normal braking system will still work, but without the help of the anti-lock braking system.
These two warning lights will illuminate at the same time while driving when the ABS and normal braking system may not work normally.
On some vehicles, this warning may also relate to the Motor Assisted Power Steering (MDPS). This warning light comes on when you turn the Engine Start/Stop switch to the ON position. It stays on until the engine is started. If this light stays on after the engine has been started, it indicates an EPS malfunction. In this case, take your vehicle to an Authorized Genesis Brand Dealer for inspection.
This indicator light is part of the engine control system that monitors various components of the emissions control system. If this light comes on while driving, it indicates that a possible malfunction has been detected somewhere in the emission control system. This light also comes on when the engine start/stop switch is turned to the ON position and goes off a few seconds after the engine starts. If it illuminates while driving or does not illuminate when the engine start/stop switch is in the ON position, take the vehicle to the nearest Genesis Authorized Service Center and have the system checked. Generally, your vehicle will continue to be driven, but the system should be checked immediately by an Authorized Genesis Dealer.
This warning light indicates a malfunction in the alternator or the electrical charging system. If the warning light comes on while driving: 1. Drive to the nearest safe place. 2. With the engine stopped, check the alternator drive belt for looseness or breakage. 3. If the belt is properly adjusted, there is a problem somewhere in the electrical charging system. Have the problem resolved by a Genesis Authorized Service Center as soon as possible.
This warning message illuminates when the engine coolant temperature is above 120°C (248°F). This means the engine could overheat and become damaged.
This warning light indicates that the engine oil pressure is low. If the warning light comes on while driving: 1. Drive safely to the shoulder and stop. 2. With the engine off, check the engine oil level. If the level is low, add oil as needed. If the warning light remains on after adding oil or oil is not available, contact a Genesis Authorized Service Facility.
This warning light indicates that the fuel tank is almost empty. If it lights up, you need to add fuel as soon as possible. Driving with the low fuel warning light on or with the fuel level below "E" can cause the engine to misfire and damage the catalytic converter.
The low tire pressure warning light will illuminate for three seconds after the engine start/stop switch is turned to the ON position. If the warning light does not come on or stays on after it comes on for about three seconds when you turn the engine start/stop switch to the ON position, the tire pressure monitoring system is not working properly. In this case, take your vehicle to an authorized Genesis workshop as soon as possible. These warning lights will also come on if one or more of your tires is significantly under-inflated. You have to stop and check your tires as soon as possible. If the warning lights illuminate while driving, immediately reduce vehicle speed and stop the vehicle. Avoid sudden braking and excessive steering corrections. Inflate the tires to the correct pressure as indicated on the vehicle's tire label.
This warning light comes on if a door is not properly closed with the engine start/stop button in any position.
This warning light comes on if the trunk lid is not securely closed with the engine start/stop switch in any position.
This warning light illuminates when there is a malfunction in the AWD system. In this case, take your vehicle to an authorized Genesis brand dealer for an overhaul.
The EPB warning light comes on when the engine start/stop switch is turned on, but should go off after about 3 seconds. If the warning light does not come on or stays on after it comes on for about three seconds when you turn the engine start/stop switch to the ON position, the electronic parking brake is not working properly. If it illuminates while driving, the EPB is not working properly. Take your vehicle to an authorized Genesis workshop and have the system checked. The EPB malfunction indicator may illuminate when the ESC indicator illuminates to indicate that the ESC is not working properly, but if it is, this does not indicate an EPB malfunction.
This warning light comes on when the AEB system is off or when the radar sensor or cover is blocked with dirt or snow. Check the sensor and cover and clean them with a soft cloth. If there is an AEB malfunction, take your vehicle to an Authorized Genesis Dealer for inspection.
This indicator light will illuminate if there is a malfunction with the pre-active seat belt, low washer, electronically controlled suspension or advanced intelligent cruise control. To see the details of the warning, look at the LCD display.
The ESC indicator will come on when the engine start/stop switch is turned on, but should go off after about 3 seconds. When ESC is on, it monitors driving conditions and under normal driving conditions, the ESC light will remain off. When a slippery or low traction condition occurs, the ESC will function and the ESC indicator will flash to indicate the ESC is working. The ESC indicator stays on when the ESC may not be working properly. Take your car to an authorized Genesis workshop and have the system checked.
To switch to ESC OFF mode, press the ESC OFF button. The ESC OFF indicator will illuminate to indicate that ESC is disabled.
If the smart key is in the vehicle and the engine start/stop switch is in the ON position, the indicator will illuminate until the engine is started. However, if the smart key is not in the vehicle and the engine start/stop button is pressed, the display will flash for a few minutes to indicate that you cannot start the engine. If the ignition switch is turned ON and the display goes off after two seconds, there may be a problem in the system. Have the vehicle checked by a Genesis Authorized Service Center. When the smart key battery is low and the engine start/stop button is pressed, the indicator flashes and you cannot start the engine. However, you can still start the engine by inserting the smart key into the smart key holder. When parts of the smart key system have a problem, the indicator will flash.
Flashing green arrows on the instrument panel indicate the direction indicated by the turn signals. If the turn signal lights but does not flash, flashes faster than normal, or does not light at all, this indicates a malfunction in the turn signal system. Contact your dealer for repairs.
This indicator light comes on when the headlights are on.
This indicator illuminates when the headlights are on and in high beam or when the turn signal lever is pulled to the "flash-to-pass" position.
This indicator light comes on when the taillights or headlights are on.
This warning light illuminates when the high beams are on and the headlight switch is in the AUTO light position. When your vehicle detects vehicles approaching or ahead, the intelligent high beam system automatically switches from high beam to low beam.
This light comes on when the fog lights are on.
On some vehicle models, this display appears as AFS. The AFLS OFF indicator comes on when you turn off the adaptive headlight system by pressing the AFLS OFF button. The AFLS OFF indicator comes on when the engine start/stop switch is turned on, but should go off after about 3 seconds. If the warning light does not illuminate when you turn the engine start/stop switch to the ON position, the adaptive headlight system is not working properly. If it flashes while driving, the Adaptive Front Light System is not working properly. Take your vehicle to an authorized Genesis workshop and have the system checked.
The indicator light turns on when the “SPORT” button is pressed.
This indicator lights up when you select “SMART” mode as the driving mode.
This indicator light comes on when you select “SPORT/SNOW” as the riding mode.
This indicator light comes on when you select “ECO” mode as the driving mode.
This indicator light comes on when you select “SINGLE” mode as your driving mode.
The indicator light comes on when the cruise control is activated. The cruise control indicator light on the instrument cluster illuminates when the cruise control ON-OFF button on the steering wheel is pressed. The indicator light will turn off when the cruise control ON-OFF button is pressed again.
When you press the AUTO HOLD button, the AUTO HOLD indicator on the control panel lights in white. And when you completely stop the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal, the indicator changes from white to green.
The LKAS indicator comes on when you turn on the lane departure warning system by pressing the LKAS button. If there is a problem with the system, the yellow LKAS indicator will illuminate.
