Bose QuietComfort Headphones | Mean (2023)

What is the difference between Bose QuietComfort® headphones and Bose Sport headphones?

Both truly wireless earbuds offer comparable features for comfort and stability, sweat and weather resistance, and battery life, but there are several key differences. Firstly, the QuietComfort® headphones have noise canceling technology, while the Bose Sport headphones do not. QuietComfort® headphones are ideal for regular use throughout the day, while sport headphones are designed for exercise™. Finally, sport headphones are slightly smaller and more compact than QuietComfort® headphones.

How do you achieve full noise cancellation in Bose QuietComfort® headphones?

Bose QuietComfort® headphones use active and passive noise reduction technologies. They use a sophisticated proprietary approach to active noise reduction by placing microphones inside and outside the earcups. The electronics detect sound in almost any environment, then measure, compare and instantly react to produce an opposing canceling signal. Passive noise reduction is achieved through a combination of acoustic design and patented eartip design.

What is active equalizer?

Active EQ (equalization) involves electronically adjusting the frequency response to match Bose's proprietary response curve for headphone audio. This response curve is the result of decades of research studying how sound travels to the ear. The closer the frequency response is to the target curve, the more realistic the audio will perform.

How good is the audio performance of Bose QuietComfort® headphones?

Bose QuietComfort® headphones achieve high standards of audio performance at all volume levels. A combination of technologies makes this possible. A proprietary acoustic port design combined with high-efficiency premium drivers ensures immersive sound and deep bass from a small acoustic package. The volume-optimized active equalizer improves clarity across the entire sound spectrum for true-to-life audio reproduction. And a low-noise floor reduces the electronic hiss commonly heard in other noise-canceling headphones.

How comfortable and stable are the Bose QuietComfort® headphones?

These headphones are comfortable enough to wear for extended periods of time and stable enough to stay in place no matter how vigorously you move. The ear tips have an extended flexible edge that distributes pressure evenly across the edge of the ear. This unique design offers excellent stability without sacrificing comfort. In fact, the soft material and rounded profile allow the tip to sit comfortably in the ear cavity for extended wear.

Are Bose QuietComfort® headphones sweat resistant?

Yes. Bose QuietComfort® headphones pass the IPX4 test, which means they are protected against sweat and splashing water from any angle. The interior of the charging case is also resistant to water or sweat that can remain on the buds when placed inside for charging; however, it is not recommended that the exterior of the enclosure be exposed to water.

Can Bose QuietComfort® headphones be used with the Bose Music app?

Yes. The Bose Music app makes it easier than ever to control your headphones and switch between multiple Bluetooth® devices with a graphical interface. It also allows you to customize your QuietComfort® headphones and access software updates and new features in the future.

The Bose Music app also contains many useful features. You can set your preferred noise canceling levels, monitor power usage, customize your VPA preferences, and create a custom shortcut.

Please note that QuietComfort® headphones cannot be connected to other Bose apps such as Bose Connect, Bose Hear or Bose SoundTouch.

Can I listen to calls and music with just one earbud?

Yes, just make sure you are using the correct headset. This is because when you pair your QuietComfort® headphones with your phone, tablet or laptop, the Bluetooth® connection is made between the source device and the right earbud. The signal is then transmitted to the left earphone. So if you took out the right earbud and placed it on a table, that earbud would go to sleep in about 20 minutes, and when that happened, the left earbud would lose its Bluetooth connection. Likewise, if you place the right earbud in the charging case and close the lid, the left earbud will lose connection immediately.

As for calls, it's worth noting that the microphone system that picks up your voice is located on the right earcup - another good reason to opt for the right earcup when you only want to use one.

Keep in mind that when you choose to listen only with the right earbud, you won't be able to access the touch controls on the left earcup; so you'll have to adjust the noise cancellation via the Bose Music app and manage your content directly. on your device.

Placing the headset back on your ear will reactivate the previous mode settings and audio content.

What is a shortcut? How do I configure it?

In addition to the other gesture-based controls on the headphones, Bose QuietComfort® headphones offer a shortcut feature. Allows you to set a custom command such as skip track or check battery level. You can set your preference in the Bose Music app and access your preferred feature by pressing the left earbud.

How do the StayHear® Max tips included with Bose QuietComfort® headphones differ from the original StayHear+ QC tips?

StayHear® Max tips are made from a soft silicone material similar to the original StayHear+ QC tips and have a similar umbrella shape, creating a soft seal at the entrance to the ear canal for superior noise cancellation and listening performance. But the means of attachment are different; StayHear® Max ear tips wrap around the headset's acoustic package, allowing the headset to sit closer to the head.

The new eartip design has the added benefit of creating a tighter seal between the ear and the headset, resulting in better bass and overall audio sound.

If you have another pair of Bose headphones that include Bose StayHear+ tips, the tip size you are used to may be different with these updated tips. Be sure to use the Bose Music app to complete the ear tip sizing tutorial. You may have to try on to find the correct size.

Why are there three pairs of olives?

To ensure proper headphone comfort and performance, Bose QuietComfort® headphones come with three sizes of soft ear tips. Finding the right tip size for your ears is important. Be sure to download the Bose Music app and follow the headphone sizing tutorial. You may need to experiment to determine which tip size is best for each ear, and it's not uncommon to find that you need a different size in each ear.

How to care for olives?

Bose QuietComfort® headphones should be cleaned after each use by gently drying. Take care that moisture does not enter the headphones through the ports. Also, be sure not to force dirt or debris into the ports. Do not blow air or vacuum the ports or mouthpiece.

For a more thorough cleaning, remove the ear tips and rinse with water and a mild detergent. Allow the eartips to dry completely before replacing them in the headphones. The olives must be resistant to dirt or the effects of ultraviolet radiation, which normally cause some color change. With normal use, the appearance of the tips should remain unchanged over years of use.
